Today I cancelled an equine photo session because of the horrendous rain that looked like it was set to continue for the rest of the day. We have re-arranged and will be keeping our fingers crossed for better weather next weekend. On this occasion it was worth cancelling because the client has a beautiful view that she would like to see in her photographs and this was obscured by the dreadful weather. I am always willing to re-arrange a session if the weather is unsuitable.

Cancelling is not always necessary, particularly if it is still warm – driving winter rain is not so much fun! If the client is happy to get wet, then so am I and rain can offer some great opportunities for interesting arty images - here are some of my favourite images taken in the rain.
